||In this paper, a parallel image-processing method based on Open Multi-Processing (OpenMP) is proposed for a software application in a fire-control system (FCS). The proposed method for image processing is composed of automatic and semi-manual detection methods. In the automatic method, a target is dynamically detected automatically by the image-processing scheme for a moving target in a charge-coupled device with IR for a bright target. For the performance evaluation, the proposed method is compared with normal image processing under the Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). The simulation results show that the proposed method has good performance in terms of total image-processing time in the FCS.
